Elementary Students Become 'Secret Agents' at STEM Night
An unstoppable mission to ignite minds with STEM and stories took over Tierra del Sol as it hosted its annual STEM Night on September 25 from 3:00 to 4:30. The school's cafeteria, the TDS Cafeteria, was transformed into a "Top Secret" headquarters for the evening.
Teachers embraced the theme, dressing as secret agents to encourage students to complete a series of challenging "missions." These missions involved engaging STEM activities organized by every grade level, including a book walk and so much more. Students were challenged to complete secret missions like:
Mission: Crack the Ciphers
Mission: Light Detective
Mission: Complete the Circuit
Mission: Invisible Ink
Upon completing their assignments, students received their own Secret Agent Badge.
Vendors Add to the Excitement
In addition to the grade-level activities, the event featured special vendors that provided hands-on learning experiences:
The Fab Lab allowed children to use 3D pens to design various objects.
MJ's Gaming Cafe had students working on engaging mazes.
The Public Library was on site, helping families register for a public library card.
No secret mission would be complete without fuel! Free nachos were served because "Even Secret Spies on a mission can't resist" them. The evening was a great success, encouraging students to explore the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
